Starting in 2017, German trade fair organizer Koelnmesse and Colombian counterpart Corporacion de Ferias y Exposiciones S.A (Corferias) will jointly organize the packaging technology trade fair Andina-Pack.
The event’s venue will continue to be the Corferias exhibition grounds in Bogotá. Andina-Pack is now the second trade fair, after the food fair Alimentec, on which Koelnmesse and Corferias will collaborate in the future.
“Through this cooperation we are strategically expanding our involvement in the Latin American market within one of our core areas of expertise. Because of its economic potential and geographic location, Colombia is a very interesting future market for us,” explains Gerald Böse, the Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH.
Andina-Pack has established itself as an important trade fair in the packaging technology sector in its region ever since it was first held in 1991. At its most recent staging in November 2013, a total of 384 exhibitors presented their latest innovations and trends to more than 18,000 trade visitors on a net exhibition area of approximately 9,500 square metres. The collaboration of the two companies will enable Andina-Pack to benefit from the regional trade fair know-how of Corferias as well as the international sector expertise of Koelnmesse. Corferias and Koelnmesse are jointly planning to further expand the international scope of Andina-Pack in the years ahead and to establish the trade fair as an attractive entry point into the Colombian market.
Colombia is the second Latin American country in which Koelnmesse is now operating, alongside Brazil, where it organizes ANUTEC Brazil and UrbanTec Brasil.
