The National Frozen and Refrigerated Foods Association (NFRA) in the US declared the month of March as the Frozen Food Month, 33 years ago.
In 2016, NFRA has planned a new approach to promote the 33rd annual National March Frozen Food Month in 2016, which includes multiple resources and activations for the retail frozen aisle – from a partnership with Coupons.com, to exposure through local media stations, to extensive social media engagement to reach consumers.
“NFRA is excited to offer a wide variety of March Frozen Food Month-themed Point-of-Sale materials including specialty items, artwork and photography to be used in local promotions. This year, ordering your POS has been made more efficient with a brand new online ordering site! Browse through all the POS items, add your selections to your cart and check out and pay online in no time at all,” according to NFRA.
The association has also struck a deal with CBS, in order to promote the benefits of frozen food via CBS local radio stations in the US, especially emphasizing convenience and benefits for the environment and reducing food waste by increasing their frozen food consumption, counting on this category’s long shelf life.
“National radio includes three spots for each sponsoring brand in 19 Top Markets, every day, for two consecutive weeks. A March content hub on CBS local station sites featuring recipes and other content will drive excitement to the frozen aisles, and CBS stations will share frozen recipes and favorite products on their social media channels with the hashtag #EasyHomeMeals,” according to NFRA.
