Mr Whippy Commissions Starfrost Cooling System for New Production Line Ahead of 2026 Launch

Mr Whippy, the ice cream brand, has teamed up with industrial refrigeration specialist Starfrost to install a cutting-edge cooling system for its new production line, a key step in advance of a major product launch planned for Summer 2026.

The move is part of a multimillion-pound investment in a new production facility in Sheffield. Mr Whippy has ordered a fully automated, precision-engineered Helix spiral cooling system from Starfrost as it prepares to expand its portfolio beyond ice cream and into premium doughnut products. The system is designed to provide uniform, rapid cooling and precise temperature control to ensure consistent quality across the company’s new bakery range.

Star Refrigeration, the parent company of Starfrost, will supply a CO₂-based refrigeration plant as part of a turnkey package. The system is engineered to optimize energy efficiency and year-round performance, while the use of CO₂ aligns with Mr Whippy’s environmental goals by offering a low-carbon and sustainable solution.

This investment marks a critical step in Mr Whippy’s strategy to strengthen product consistency and operational efficiency as it scales up production.
