Sales of frozen pizza and ice cream were positive for Nestle in the EMENA region in the first quarter of 2016, for which the company recorded 3.2% organic growth and 3.1% real internal growth over all categories. Total sales in the mentioned time frame reached CHF4bn in EMENA.
The frozen food segment also performed well in the Americas, delivering strong growth especially in North America, due to innovation and a successful new communication campaign for Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s. There were also solid performances for ice cream, in the mentioned region, for which total sales amounted to CHF5.8bn.
“Our US frozen food business is progressing well,” said Paul Bulcke, Nestlé CEO. “As anticipated, the first quarter continued the positive momentum in real internal growth, with softer pricing. We gained market share in the majority of our categories and businesses. The strongest performances were in Europe, in South East Asia and in Africa,” he added.
