The overall frozen food market grew by 2,7% annually, between 2010 and 2014, to reach EUR 101,6 billion in 2014, according to the latest report by research company Food for Thought.
Retail remains the main segment for frozen food, while foodservice accounts for 30,8% of the total market value in 2014, with a per capita expenditure of EUR140, according to the report. The top 10 players of this segment supply 39% of the market, with Nomad leading the pack with a market share of 11,7%, followed by Unilever with 6,3%, Nestle with 5,8%, Lion Capital with 3,9% and Dr. Oetker with 2,6%.
