Nina Bakery, the home of authentic artisanal pita bread, will highlight its bite-size cocktail pitas at the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo, in Hamburg, 5-7 April.
The bite-size pitas, available in both whole grain and standard, offer airline caterers alternatives to common breads. The cocktail pitas are perfect for onboard dining, only 6 cm diameter, 18 grams, they fit comfortably into standard airline trays.
“Our stone oven baked cocktail pita is perfect for small dishes such as appetizers and cocktail snacks,” said Nina Bakery’s CEO, Pierre Nehmeh. “It is perfect for fillings, doesn’t tear easily and its exceptional taste and texture are always appreciated,” he explained. “Europeans are now well used to pitas but often they are exposed to large pitas of lesser quality in fast food outlets. Our products are of a much higher, restaurant quality, perfectly suited for the small, extremely tasty bites needed with appetizers, tapas and onboard dining.
Also showcased at the World Travel Catering Expo is a new type of savory Pita Stick. Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, the Pita Sticks are stone oven baked and frozen and come in Wheat Za’atar and whole wheat flavors. Za’atar is a traditional mix of Middle Eastern herbs including wild thyme, sumac and sea salt.
