Recently, the Salud Foodgroup in The Netherlands developed “Avocado Fries”, a fresh avocado slice, battered and breaded with a spicy flavored skin. This new pre-fried and frozen finger food product have had its world premiere at the Anuga in Cologne and was selected for the “Anuga Taste 15” for its innovative concept.
Most avocado is consumed fresh, so for Salud it was, although specialists in avocados and avocado products, a real challenge to produce a frozen avocado convenience product as an appetizer.
The Avocado Fries, available in chili and natural flavor, are pre-fried and frozen and are to be served hot after 3,5 – 4 minutes deep frying at 180°C.
Salud Foodgroup is market leader in Europe for ready-to-eat guacamole. The new product fits extremely well in their existing range of avocado products and appetizers.
