In a move aimed at fueling its global growth, Seafrigo Group, a leading specialist in cool-chain food logistics, has appointed Bruno Plantaz as its new Group Chief Executive Officer.
Company founder Eric Barbé will transition to the role of President, partnering with Plantaz to drive the company’s long-term strategic expansion.
Plantaz brings over two decades of international expertise in freight forwarding and contract logistics, having held senior management positions at logistics giants CEVA and Kuehne & Nagel across Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
“This company is a sparkling diamond, and now it needs to be polished to shine even brighter,” said Plantaz. “It’s highly customer-centric, with an exceptional entrepreneurial spirit – now we need to grow and expand its services to even more countries around the world.”
Barbé, whose business development skills Plantaz described as “extraordinary,” will work closely with the new CEO to execute on Seafrigo’s ambitious global growth strategy. The company has already laid the groundwork for expanding its refrigerated services to new markets in Europe, the Americas, the Middle East and Asia, with a number of announcements expected in the coming months.
Plantaz will be based at Seafrigo’s new global headquarters in Le Havre, France, where the company has been headquartered for over 40 years. During that time, Seafrigo has developed a worldwide network in food logistics within the refrigerated space, forging business partnerships with a global clientele and brands.
The company, which is growing strongly both in France and internationally, now has its own infrastructure in 32 countries and has built up a global network of partners. Seafrigo employs 2,500 committed professionals who organize the international transport of goods on 5 continents on a daily basis.
