Visitors to Booth E1 in Hall 10 at the 28th CFIA trade show in Rennes can expect an array of innovations in packaging.
“Groundbreaking, safe, and above all, sustainable packaging concepts for fresh meat, cold cuts, and fish,” is how SÜDPACK describes its latest offerings. The company is also putting a spotlight on trend-driven solutions for snacks and fruit purees, while package printing remains a core focus for the renowned film manufacturer.
Those in search of a fully sustainable packaging system will find it difficult to overlook SÜDPACK’s SPQ (Sustainable Print Quality) printing technology, a revolutionary approach in the industry.
From March 4–6, more than 2,000 companies will showcase their latest products and services for the food industry across 50,000 square meters of exhibition space at the Parc Expo in Rennes, the capital of Brittany. SÜDPACK, launching its trade show season at CFIA, will present a diverse selection of innovations, all with sustainability at their core.
“Our range of sustainable high-performance films and packaging concepts is extensive, covering virtually all applications within the food industry,” the company emphasizes. Its solutions are designed to optimize product protection while maintaining material efficiency and conserving resources. Most critically, they are recyclable. The result: SÜDPACK enables producers and packers to reduce packaging weight and, ultimately, their environmental footprint.
Innovations in Fresh Meat, Cold Cuts, and Fish Packaging
SÜDPACK offers an extensive portfolio of thermoformable bottom webs, ranging from rigid to flexible films, designed to pair seamlessly with its peelable and multi-peelable top webs. For sliced sausage, ham, and cheese, the company provides mono-material solutions based on PP and PE, boasting certified recyclability of over 90%. These top and bottom webs ensure excellent mechanical and functional properties, including peelability and stability for display on refrigerated shelves.
A major advancement in both material reduction and recyclability is the next generation of PP- and PE-based flow packs. One standout example is the “ground meat in a pouch” solution, which offers a recyclable alternative to traditional packaging. This concept reduces material usage by up to 60%, significantly lowering the product’s carbon footprint without compromising barrier properties or product protection.
With Multifol, SÜDPACK has developed a high-performance film that minimizes material usage while maximizing protection. Compared to conventional PA/PE structures, Multifol is approximately 30% lighter. Its exceptional sealing performance ensures high package quality, even when sealing surfaces are contaminated. Designed with superior puncture resistance, it is ideal for vacuum packaging meat, fish, and products with bony parts, as well as for deep-freeze applications.
For modified atmosphere tray packaging, including foam trays, SÜDPACK offers the Veraplex Drum top web. This ultra-thin, material-efficient barrier film provides high puncture and tear resistance, a glossy surface, and excellent sealing properties. Even on contaminated surfaces, it maintains a secure seal, making it a prime choice for packaging meat, poultry, and fish.
