Syntegon to Unveil Integrated Frozen Food Packaging Line at interpack 2026

Syntegon is introducing a new integrated packaging solution for frozen food manufacturers at interpack 2026, marking the global debut of a system that combines bagging and case packing into a single, coordinated line.

The launch reflects the company’s broader strategy to move beyond standalone machinery and position itself as a full-line solutions provider.

The system integrates the company’s SVX Agile vertical bagger with the newly launched Elematic 4001 gravity case packer, targeting producers of Individually Quick Frozen products such as French fries, vegetables, fruit and frozen protein. By linking primary and secondary packaging processes, the line is designed to improve throughput, optimize case utilization and streamline operations under a unified control platform.

Frozen food packaging presents distinct operational challenges, including the need for high-speed processing at low temperatures and efficient downstream logistics. Manufacturers are also under increasing pressure to reduce packaging waste and limit unused space in shipping, an issue often described as “shipping air” in the industry.

The integrated solution addresses these concerns by enabling a continuous flow from bagging to case packing. The SVX Agile forms, fills and seals pillow bags, which are then transferred to the Elematic 4001. The case packer uses a gravity-based drop mechanism, supported by a two-level, servo-controlled collation system, to load grouped bags directly into cartons. Prior to loading, a rumbling station distributes product within the bags to support more efficient packing.

The Elematic 4001 is engineered for high-output environments, with infeed capacities of up to 120 bags per minute and the ability to load up to 25 cases per minute. The system is initially available with horizontal case loading, with an integrated horizontal and vertical configuration expected to follow in the second half of 2026, allowing manufacturers to tailor the setup to regional logistics requirements.

While gravity-based case packing systems are not new, Syntegon’s approach centers on delivering an integrated platform rather than standalone equipment. By combining both machines within a single system architecture, the company aims to offer more consistent operation, simplified training and improved visibility across the production line.

Both machines are equipped with the company’s latest human-machine interface, designed to enhance usability and provide clearer access to performance metrics, including overall equipment effectiveness data. The unified control approach is intended to support faster troubleshooting and more efficient line management.

With the launch, Syntegon is positioning the combined SVX Agile and Elematic 4001 as part of a broader shift toward integrated systems that deliver efficiency gains across entire operations rather than at the level of individual machines. Visitors to interpack 2026 will be able to see the full line in operation, as the company highlights the potential for coordinated packaging processes to increase throughput and reduce logistical inefficiencies.
