Frozen food producers in Croatia will have to mention the freezing date on all frozen meat products and frozen unprocessed fish products, according to amendments to the labeling legislation in the country.
The rules apply to food products and are in accordance with the EU Regulation 1169/2011, meant to allow consumers to better understand their purchases. Besides the above mentioned changes, food producers need to specify indicate the place of origin for their products, as well as specific nutritional information for goods such as minced meat. All products that do not comply with the new laws will remain on the shelves as long as stocks last.
The Regulation will be enforced starting December 13th 2014, except for nutritional information, which becomes obligatory in 2016.
