Global packaging manufacturer Mondi is set to present its broad range of sustainable packaging solutions at this year’s Fachpack trade fair, to be held in Nuremberg from September 23 to 25.
The company plans to showcase offerings across kraft paper, solid board, corrugated materials, barrier papers, and flexible plastic-based packaging, underscoring its position as a supplier of integrated, application-specific packaging systems.
Mondi’s presence at the event comes amid tightening regulatory scrutiny and rising demand for environmentally responsible packaging across sectors. The company said its “material-neutral” approach allows it to tailor packaging based on functionality, compliance requirements, and environmental performance.
“Innovation at Mondi starts with collaboration,” said Thomas Ott, CEO of Flexible Packaging at Mondi. “In our newly opened FlexStudios customers can actively participate in the innovation process, benefitting first-hand from our extensive expertise and state-of-the-art technology to drive sustainable change in the flexible packaging industry. The FlexStudios also include pilot lines for real-time testing, allowing us to turn ideas into viable packaging solutions for our customers quickly and collaboratively. By bringing together customers, machinery partners and recyclers, we ensure that innovation is practical, scalable and tailored to real-world needs.”
The company plans to highlight packaging formats designed for specific applications, including high-barrier solutions for pet food and home care, fiber-based alternatives for fast-moving consumer goods, and corrugated materials tailored to industrial and eCommerce sectors.
Mondi’s start-up engagement initiative, known as Mondi MatchMaker, will also be featured during the show. The platform connects early-stage companies with Mondi’s business units to support pilot projects and broader commercialization. MatchMaker is scheduled to be part of the FuturePack 2025 panel on September 22 and will also be presented during an “Innovation in Practice” networking session on September 23.
In addition to showcasing its product innovation, Mondi is highlighting recent strategic moves to expand capacity. “The acquisition of Schumacher Packaging’s operations in Western Europe significantly expands our corrugated capacity and capabilities,” said Markus Gärtner, CEO of Corrugated Packaging at Mondi. “It allows us to offer customers an even broader range of sustainable packaging solutions, backed by enhanced supply security and local service. By combining our strengths, we can deliver more value and flexibility to meet the evolving needs of eCommerce, FMCG and industrial customers alike.”
Fachpack 2025 is expected to attract a wide cross-section of the packaging supply chain, including materials suppliers, machinery developers, recyclers, and brand owners, with sustainability and regulatory compliance among the key topics of discussion.
