Seafood Expo Asia Opens in Singapore With Record International Presence

Seafood Expo Asia opened today at Singapore’s Sands Expo Convention Centre, bringing together seafood suppliers, buyers and industry leaders for three days of networking, product showcases and market insights.

Organized by Diversified, the 13th edition of the event features exhibitors from 42 countries, including 28 national and regional pavilions.

“Today we’re excited to welcome industry buyers from across Asia and suppliers from around the world,” said Wynter Courmont, vice president of seafood at Diversified. “Seafood Expo Asia is a strategic platform for companies across the seafood supply chain to come together, spark innovation, unlock new business opportunities and build strategic partnerships across the Asian market.”

New participants this year include Estonia and the United Arab Emirates, with first-time pavilions from Estonia, South Korea, China, Saudi Arabia and Taiwan. Returning countries range from Australia and Canada to Norway, Japan, Vietnam and the United States, underscoring the event’s global scope.

The exhibition floor features leading seafood companies such as AquaChile, Blumar Seafoods, Fanny Bay Oysters, Loch Duart Salmon, Vinh Hoan Corporation and Zalmhuys Group, alongside national industry bodies like the South African Farmed Abalone Export Council. Suppliers of aquaculture technology and processing equipment—including BAADER, OPTIMAR SPAIN, and Trio Food Processing Machinery—are also showcasing solutions for sustainability, efficiency and food safety.

Attendees include decision-makers from airlines, cruise operators, hotel groups, restaurant chains, supermarkets and wholesalers. Companies such as Aeon Topvalu, DFI Retail Group, Lidl & Kaufland Asia, Maxims Caterers, REWE Group, SATS Catering and Sysco are represented among the buyers searching for new products and suppliers.

A parallel conference program is addressing topics such as sustainability, aquaculture, shrimp market dynamics, consumer trends and the role of aquafeeds. At 2:00 p.m. today, economist Manu Bhaskaran is scheduled to deliver a keynote on global trends and their implications for regional growth, currencies and investment strategies.

Interactive features on the show floor are designed to engage both buyers and suppliers. The Oyster Challenge, a three-round competition, will showcase chefs’ skills in shucking and pairing oysters. The Seafood Excellence Asia Awards will recognize the best new seafood products at the event. A product showcase and a series of tastings and demonstrations are also planned, alongside a networking reception this afternoon at the Demo Theater to honor award winners.

Running through September 12, Seafood Expo Asia positions itself as a key entry point for global seafood companies seeking to expand in the Asian market, which continues to drive growth in consumption, aquaculture and cold-chain development.
