The seafood trade fair fish international concluded at the end of February, with organizers and exhibitors reporting a surge of new business contacts, tangible commercial opportunities, and renewed industry momentum.
First-time exhibitors in particular cited strong engagement from visitors, while long-standing participants reaffirmed the event’s role as a key meeting point for the sector.
Organized by MESSE BREMEN, the event aimed to mirror the realities and diversity of the seafood market. According to many participants, the fair delivered on that goal. Representatives from traditional fisheries, aquaculture, processing and retail gathered alongside manufacturers of alternative seafood products, creating a forum for exchanging ideas and exploring new market opportunities.
Several companies used the event to unveil new products and concepts, drawing attention from buyers and industry professionals. For many exhibitors, Sunday proved to be the busiest and most commercially successful day of the fair, said Thierry Stauffenegger, Managing Director of Transgourmet Seafood. His company’s stand attracted considerable interest with the introduction of a fiber box made from renewable raw materials, developed for the refrigerated transport of fish and seafood. The packaging solution was created in partnership with packaging manufacturer Papacks, and the response from visitors was “very positive,” according to the team.
In total, 12,761 industry professionals attended the joint event of fish international and GASTRO IVENT. Organizers said the companion fair once again emphasized practicality, with short walking distances, clearly defined themes and a high concentration of relevant industry contacts.
