Enex Technologies Wins Dual Awards, Underscoring Push Into Climate Tech and Data Center Cooling

Enex Technologies has reinforced its position in climate technology and industrial cooling with two awards at the MCE – Mostra Convegno Expocomfort exhibition in Milan, as demand for sustainable cooling solutions accelerates across industries, particularly in data centers.

The Treviso-based company said it received two MCE Excellence Awards recognizing technological leadership and innovation in natural refrigerant systems, an area gaining traction as regulators and operators seek alternatives to traditional cooling methods.

The awards were granted to two of the company’s flagship solutions: the Mega Ammonia (NH₃) Chiller and the Industrial V-Shaped Dry Cooler. The former was recognized for its performance in high-capacity industrial cooling using natural refrigerants, while the latter was cited for its efficiency and compact design in demanding industrial environments, including applications tailored to data center requirements.

The recognition reflects a broader shift toward natural refrigerant technologies, which are increasingly viewed as critical to meeting both environmental standards and performance expectations in energy-intensive sectors. Enex Technologies has positioned itself at the center of that transition, building a portfolio that spans CO₂, ammonia, propane and water-based systems.

According to the company, the development of these solutions has been driven by a multidisciplinary team of more than 40 professionals across 10 functional areas and 12 nationalities. The group, based across multiple European locations, has focused on translating technical expertise into commercially viable products for high-growth markets such as industrial cooling and data centers.

These awards are a further recognition of who we are and how we work, they confirm our leadership not only in technology, but in our ability to turn innovation into impact through the excellence of our people, the agility of our innovation roadmap and the continuous collaboration with our partners,” commented François Audo, CEO of Enex Technologies.

The company says it is currently the only player offering a full suite of natural refrigerant technologies across multiple applications, ranging from commercial refrigeration to industrial processes, heat pumps and mission-critical environments.

The awards come as Europe intensifies efforts to accelerate the energy transition, with increasing emphasis on solutions that meet stricter sustainability and regulatory requirements, including the move away from PFAS-based technologies.

Enex Technologies is expected to continue targeting the data center segment, a market experiencing rapid expansion in Italy. Industry projections indicate that the country’s data center sector could grow by as much as 20% annually over the next five years, positioning it as a key hub within Europe.

The company is set to participate for the third consecutive year in Data Centre Nation Milan in May, an event that has become a focal point for the country’s data center industry and a platform for showcasing emerging cooling technologies.
