Åkerströms has always placed a high priority on safety while creating radio remote control solutions.
Securing manual operations with their connected services platform, Access_Ctrl, has helped Åkerströms and Ovako Sweden, one of the top producers of industrial steel in the Nordic market, move toward a safer industrial environment.
The two Swedish firms’ alliance is a further step in a lengthy path towards a safer and more sustainable future through technology, as the primary goal of the SaaS platform is to decrease workplace injuries and accidents.
By prohibiting unlawful use, the platform offering provides an easy way to manage licenses for industrial crane operators, enabling them to safely carry out their work. Additionally, it guarantees that the crane’s daily control is carried out and recorded, which forms the foundation for identifying flaws and faults before they become bigger and more expensive mistakes.
“The service offered to our companies and facilities in Sweden aims to ensure a systematic way to increase personal safety for heavy lifting. After successful test installations, there is now the opportunity to expand with more connections in Hofors, Hällefors, Smedjebacken, Boxholm, and Hallstahammar. We look forward to further improving our personal safety and creating an even safer workplace for our employees,” said Phetra Ericsson, EVP group HR, communication & EHS for Ovako, in reference to Access_Ctrl.
Hans Åkerblom, CEO of Åkerströms added: “We are taking a decisive step towards safer operations within the industry. The licensing agreement between us and the Ovako Group’s companies in Sweden not only signifies a joint commitment to safety but also a clear vision to drive industry development in a responsible direction.”
