Central Foods, a leading frozen food distributor in the UK, has announced the appointment of Amy Oliver as their new business development executive.
This addition to the sales team comes as part of the company’s expansion plans and follows a recent deal with Tyson Foods’ UK division to increase distribution of chicken products to independent frozen food wholesalers across the country.
Amy, who hails from the area near Central Foods’ headquarters in Collingtree, Northampton, expressed her enthusiasm for the new role, stating: “I am excited to join Central Foods as a business development executive and start my journey within this wonderful local business in the exciting world of foodservice. I’ve always had an interest in food and food trends and there is no better place to indulge my passion than in the market itself. I am looking forward to learning from the years of knowledge that my fellow colleagues have within the business.”
While Amy brings experience from food retail and hospitality sectors, this position marks her first full-time role since completing her A-levels.
Gordon Lauder, Managing Director of Central Foods, welcomed Amy to the team, saying: “We are delighted to have expanded our sales team and look forward to introducing Amy to our clients and customers. It’s an exciting time to be joining Central Foods, as we begin working with Tyson Foods alongside all the other fantastic brands and businesses that have been working with for many years – supporting them with distribution in the foodservice sector and providing the catering industry with a superb range of quality products.”
Central Foods has established itself as a key player in the UK’s frozen food distribution sector, supplying over 200 independent wholesalers, as well as larger national and regional wholesalers. The company takes pride in its role as a catering partner across the entire food service sector, with a diverse client base including hotels, restaurants, bars, universities, schools, pubs, care homes, garden centres, and various leisure outlets.
This strategic hire and the recent partnership with Tyson Foods UK indicate Central Foods’ commitment to growth and strengthening its position in the competitive frozen food distribution market.
