Potato specialist Aviko has partnered with UK quick-service casual dining chain Roosters Piri Piri, which offers ethnic and free-from menus.
“One of the challenges in the casual dining sector is staying ahead of the game,” says Khalid Mirza, founder of Roosters. “Throughout 2014, we completely restructured the Roosters business, becoming more selective with site locations, as well as develop the franchise division. We’re looking to grow the business from the inside, offering successful franchisees the opportunity to run several sites, while launching outlets across Europe and beyond.”
Roosters Piri Piri currently has over 40 outlets with recent openings in Walthamstow, Wood Green, Shepherds Bush and Ireland – its first venture outside mainland UK.
Khalid explains: “A large part of our success is down to the fact we control the full supply chain – from distribution to front of house presentation. We chose to work with Aviko due to their expertise in the industry, and also because they meet our standards in quality, taking feedback from the market and consumers onboard to continually improve their offering. Our kitchens rely on consistent quality and Aviko delivers on this – I believe they’re currently the front runner in potato products.”
Dedicated to foodservice and one of the biggest potato processors in the world, Aviko offers a range of chilled and frozen potato specialties made by chefs, for chefs from morning favorites such as Hash Browns and innovative Hash Brown Bites, through to Premium Fries, Mash, Roasties and much more.
“Gluten-free menu choices are becoming increasingly important at Roosters as we get more and more requests from customers wanting these products. The bonus of using Aviko’s Sweet Potato Fries, as well as its Superlongs and Mash, is that we’re able to grow our gluten-free offering and respond to the market.”
