Bernatello’s Pizza, a frozen pizza manufacturer, is expanding its production facility located in Kaukauna, Wisconsin. The news was shared by the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) which also noted that the extended plant will absorb a USD24m investment and will create 48 new jobs in the process.
To support the project, WEDC authorized USD35,000 in state income tax credits over three years to Bernatello’s contingent on the number of jobs created and the amount of capital investment.
“In addition to the jobs created by this project, this expansion will allow Bernatello’s to take advantage of a growing market and position itself for future growth,” said WEDC secretary and CEO Mark Hogan.
Bernatello’s Pizza – a family-owned company – was founded in 1982 and is headquartered in Edina, Minnesota. The firm has a manufacturing facility in Maple Lake, Minnesota, and two in Eau Claire and Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Its brands include Brew Pub, Bellatoria, Real’Za, Pizza Corner, Hangry Bear, Orv’s and Roma.
According to the press release, the frozen pizza company has experienced steady growth since its acquisition of Orv’s Pizza in 2012. The manufacturer recently undertook a 30,000-square-foot expansion to its facility in Kaukauna, which includes a new high-speed double pizza topping line. The new investment is expected to further strengthen the firm’s market position.
