Cibus Tec Forum 2025: Parma Emerges as a Hub for Europe’s Food Innovation

The Italian city of Parma took center stage this week as leaders from across Europe’s food and technology industries convened for Cibus Tec Forum 2025, a high-level event aimed at driving innovation, sustainability, and investment across the agri-food sector.

Held on October 28 and 29 at Fiere di Parma, the forum brought together companies, start-ups, researchers, and policymakers for two days of dialogue on global food trends. The event, organized by Koeln Parma Exhibitions (KPE)—a joint venture between Koelnmesse and Fiere di Parma—showcased the latest technological advancements shaping the future of food production, processing, and safety.

Unlike a traditional trade fair, Cibus Tec Forum positioned itself as a cross-industry platform for the exchange of ideas, strategies, and emerging visions in foodtech. Over 200 exhibitors and brands participated, with a quarter of them coming from outside Italy. Each presented new technologies designed to address challenges such as supply chain resilience, energy efficiency, and sustainable growth.

Organizers described the forum as a strategic meeting point for the international agri-food community, serving as a preview to the next full-scale Cibus Tec exhibition, scheduled for October 27–30, 2026, also in Parma.

Running in parallel was Labotec 2025, Italy’s only trade show dedicated to laboratory technologies and analytical science. The two events created a comprehensive environment for collaboration between food producers, technology developers, and research institutions.

The forum opened with a keynote conference titled “A European Vision for Agri-Food: Sustainability, Supply Security and a Strong Boost for Research and Innovation.” Discussions centered on the growing scarcity of productive resources and the business strategies needed to build more resilient and sustainable production models.

By blending industrial expertise with scientific insight, Cibus Tec Forum 2025 underscored Parma’s expanding role as one of Europe’s most dynamic centers for food innovation—a city where tradition and technology continue to converge in the quest for a more sustainable global food system.
