Frozen food manufacturer and retailer COOK is set to build a new kitchen facility after securing GBP16m in funding from HSBC UK – one of the country’s largest banking and financial services organizations in the world, reports Bdaily.
The capital injection will be used to construct a 25,000 sqft. kitchen facility in Sittingbourne, 45 miles from London. According to Edward Perry co-chief executive officer of COOK, who was cited by the report, the company’s existing kitchen facility is at full capacity, so additional space was needed in order to achieve the plan of doubling sales in five years.
The new facility will initially create 80 new jobs, with a view to grow to a total headcount of 200 new staff members over the next three to four years.
COOK offers a wide range of meal options from chicken, beef, or lamb-based options to vegan and vegan-friendly. The company also sells kids meals, meals for 2, 4, 6 or 8 and includes gluten- and dairy-free alternatives.
