Easyfresh Frigo Breda, an international player in the transport and cold store solutions for frozen and refrigerated cargo that co-owns Easyfresh, will establish itself per June 1, 2020 in the Port of Moerdijk, the Netherlands The new location will measure 5.8 hectares and have an own quay of 300 meters.

Frigo Breda will realize a waterfront with a capacity of 70,000 pallets and new headquarters. Part of Moerdijk will attract a serious player in this market which will support a stronger cluster of frozen and refrigerated cargo handling capacity.

On the new location Frigo Breda will store frozen and chilled products that can be shipped in or exported using all modalities: water, rail and road. The new Coldstore will have 8 large cells with 31 load-docks and a combined capacity of 70.000 pallets. Today Frigo Breda has 37.000 pallets capacity divided over 6 locations so naturally this means that the expansion in Moerdijk is of large significance. Besides the Coldstore Frigo Breda will establish their new headquarters in Moerdijk.

In addition to the Coldstore a container yard will be created with sufficient reefer-plugs for cooling loaded reefer containers. Also, a new Border Inspection Point (BIP) will be created for the Dutch veterinary inspection body (NVWA) allowing import products like meat or fish to be inspected in Moerdijk arriving by container.

“The transport and logistics sector will face future challenges to make ever increasing transport-movements more efficient and environmentally friendly against so much needed lower CO2 and NOx emissions,” noted managing director Reinier van Elderen of Frigo Breda. Our new facilities will have a large storage and stevedore capacity with direct access to the water guaranteeing short connections to the main-hubs of Rotterdam and Antwerp,” van Elderen added.
