Frostkrone Wins Two Food Awards at the IFE

The Frostkrone Food Group is the winner of the World Food Innovation Award in the categories “Best Food Concept” and “Best Snacking Innovation”. The prizes were presented to the winners on March 28. Frédéric Dervieux, CEO of the Frostkrone Food Group, expresses the pride he feels about the result in this way: “It is our aspiration to delight people again and again with trendy, exciting and indeed trailblazing innovations. These awards constitute an acknowledgement of our efforts and are a huge incentive for us to continue resolutely along this chosen path.”

In the category “Best Food Concept”, it is the new snack-to-go range for the chilled cabinets, known as “Ready To Eat”, that has been awarded the prize: fast, delicious and comes to you straight off the refrigerated shelves to quell those hunger pangs in between meals and when you’re on the go: this range speaks to a generation that is so fluid and flexible when it comes to deciding where and when to eat. Nevertheless they want no trade-off as regards the taste, quality and variety of their meals. Thanks to the huge selection of snacks on offer, the customer can choose from a sumptuous kaleidoscope of vegan or vegetarian culinary delights – vegetable snacks, cheese snacks and also snacks with a vegetable and cheese mix. There are several variations with chicken, too. And this is the pièce de resistance, which is really something else: every type of snack is wrapped in a luscious coating, created out of delicious spices, seeds and grains.

Thanks to the innovative technology involved in their preparation, the snacks are ready to eat – no warming up required – and they have a long shelf life, a fact which gives the food service sector and the foodstuff trade a high degree of flexibility.

And in the category “Best Snacking Innovation”, the “Ready To Eat” range with its Curry Mango Tots also picks up the winning prize. An exotic pleasure for your taste buds sensualised even more with an extra shot of vitamins: mango, apple and carrot blend together against a backdrop of subtly aromatic spring onions only to be enlivened by a distinctive spice kick of curry and coriander. These curry and mango tots are enveloped in a coating of coconut flakes, linseeds and coriander. The tots come in resealable tubs as a 100g pack and can be eaten cold straight away.
