GEA Acquires Italian Equipment Producer Imaforni

Imaforni shareholders and GEA have signed an agreement for the acquisition of Imaforni. Imaforni’s product portfolio ranges from full line solutions for industrial production of hard biscuits and crackers over extruded and deposited biscuits to rotary moulded biscuits.

“We selected GEA as purchaser of our company with a view to reach a strategic overlap of the relevant businesses and to ensure the growth of Imaforni in the future”, said the shareholders Pierluigi Castello, Nadia Castello and Ugo Bademer.

The acquisition follows soon after GEA took over Italian company Comas and is expected to complement the cake and pastry operations of the application center bakery with industrial biscuit lines. This acquisition is another step towards realizing the GEA 2020 target footprint with a stronger focus on applications for the bakery industry and to improve GEA’s leading position in advanced process technology for the food industry.

According to terms of the transaction, there will be no discontinuity in the management of Imaforni and the company’s manufacturing facilities will continue to operate in Italy.
