Multivac Group Appoints New Joint CEOs

Multivac Group announced that its CEO of 18 years, Hans-Joachim Boekstegers will step down as of January 1, 2020. Director colleagues Christian Traumann and Guido Spix will manage the company jointly in the future.

According to the official press release announcing the change, Traumann will assume responsibility for Sales and Finances, while Spix will become responsible for Technology and Production.

Christian Traumann has been Commercial Head of Multivac Group since 2002, before being appointed Director and CFO for the company in 2008. Guido Spix joined the company as director in 2009 and has since assumed the position of CTO/COO.

To ensure the continuing in Multivac’s strategic direction, Boekstegers will continue to lead the firm by the end of the year. He joined the Group as CEO in April 2001 and since then he has been responsible for the systematic expansion of the product portfolio, as well as Multivac’s sales and service network.  During this time, the number of employees rose from 1,600 to 5,900.
