SIAL has announced the postponement of its China and Canada Exhibitions to September and August, respectively, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. SIAL Canada will take place on August 15-17 at the Palais de Congrès in Montréal, while SIAL China has been moved to September 28 – 30, 2020 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.
“The serious international concerns related to the pandemic of novel coronavirus has dictated that health and safety of exhibitors and visitors must be taken as priority and demanded an updating analysis of the current situation. Furthermore, in most cities like Beijing and Shanghai in China, upgraded restrictions will definitely affect the travel of our international participants in May as all tourists travelled from other countries 14 days prior to their arrival must undergo a 14-day quarantine at home or in a designated place. Therefore, as the organizer of SIAL China, we have decided to postpone the SIAL China 2020 to September and we are glad this decision is supported by both international and domestic exhibitors and partners”, a press release states.
“We hope the spread of the virus will be curtailed in due time, and we are grateful for your continued support and confidence. We are excited to collaborate with you on a great 2020 edition”, organizers said in regard to SIAL Canada.
