SIGEP World Expo Sets Stage for Global Foodservice Innovation

The world’s leading foodservice exhibition, SIGEP World, is preparing to open its doors for its 46th edition in a demonstration of industry resilience and innovation.

The five-day event, scheduled for January 18-22, 2025, will transform Italy’s exhibition grounds into a global hub for foodservice excellence.

“With 138,000 square meters of exhibition space, 30 halls and 1,300 exhibiting brands from 33 countries, the Italian Exhibition Group event is a reference point for the foodservice sector’s latest trends with particular focus on sustainable innovations that will shape the future of the industry,” said Corrado Peraboni, CEO of Italian Exhibition Group (IEG).

The event has achieved unprecedented international reach, according to Marco Carniello, CBO of IEG: “SIGEP, which this year includes Saudi Arabia as its guest country, is confirmed as the most international edition ever and the leading event for the Gelato, Pastry, Chocolate, Coffee, Bakery and Pizza supply chains.”

Through partnerships with the Italian Trade Agency and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the expo expects to host more than 520 top buyers from 79 countries, supplemented by 2,500 European buyers under the ‘premium programme.’

At the heart of the exhibition, SIGEP Vision will serve as a forum for industry dialogue and innovation showcase. “Trends, innovation, technologies, especially related to the world of artificial intelligence, will be spotlighted at SIGEP Vision, the beating heart of SIGEP World’s 46th edition and, with talks and panel discussions, the best stage for future global out-of-home scenarios,” explained Flavia Morelli, head of IEG’s food&beverage division.

The expo introduces three major initiatives: the Sustainability District focusing on coffee and cocoa supply chains, Taste of Tomorrow exploring gelato innovation through bio-architecture, and the Lorenzo Cagnoni Award recognizing industry innovation across seven categories. This year’s exhibition also expands its Pizza sector to include flours, fillings, and frozen pizza bases, reflecting the segment’s growing importance in global foodservice.

The event opens on January 18 with a keynote discussion on “Global Trends and Future Scenarios of the Gelato and Foodservice Industry,” setting the stage for five days of industry networking, innovation showcase, and market insight sharing.
