Fria, the Nordic market leader in frozen gluten-free bakery products, has won first prize in the Store Cupboard category in the FreeFrom Food Awards 2015 with its gluten-free and dairy-free puff pastry.
This prestigious food award was presented to Fria by category sponsor Sainsbury’s and restaurateur, celebrity chef and Patron of the FreeFrom Food Awards Antony Worrall Thompson at the awards ceremony held at the Royal College of Physicians in London.
The jury’s verdict stated: ‘Goodness – a gluten and dairy free puff pastry! That is a bit of an ask! Pretty amazing. You would certainly not know it was gluten free. A really useful store cupboard/freezer product.’
Commenting, Jeanine Holmgren, Managing Director for Fria said: “We are very happy to receive this prestigious award. Our puff pastry is very popular as it’s suitable for creating both savoury and sweet dishes”.
Fria is currently in negotiation with major British retailers to expand its distribution in the UK. News of this will be announced in the lead up to The Allergy & Free From Show at London’s Olympia 3-5 July. The show is the largest consumer show in Europe for free-from foods. Last year’s show attracted more than 30 000 visitors.
