Alimentaria celebrates its 40th anniversary as one of the established, major global food and drink fairs and expects the attendance of 4,000 companies, around 1,000 of which are international, as well as 140,000 visitors, 35% of whom will come from outside Spain.
This year’s trade fair will have five exhibition halls, bringing together all the main food and drink categories, including frozen food, meat and meat products (Intercarn), restaurant and catering products (Restaurama) and the newly introduced Multiple Foods hall, including groceries such as oils, premium food, confectionery etc.
Increase in British exhibitors
One of the countries which will have a larger exposure during this year’s trade show is the UK, with over 30 companies exhibiting and over 2000 professional delegates attending.
“The British market is a strategic one for Spanish food and drink companies, especially those that export meat and wine, including sparkling wine, and highly regarded products like sherry. In terms of value, the United Kingdom is the fourth biggest foreign market with regard to total export sales by the Spanish meat industry, representing EUR6.36 million per annum and is also important for the Spanish wine-making industry which, according to data from the ICEX, makes 8.5% of its exports to Great Britain”, according to Alimentaria organizes.
Overall, Alimentaria takes place this April 25-28 and expects over 40,000 trade visitors, of which 35% from outside of Spain.
