The Scottish operations of Nagel Langdons, a company of the Nagel-Group, have opened a new depot in Motherwell, near Glasgow, on the Eurocentral Business Park platform.
The newly occupied site contains a 54,000 sq ft ambient warehouse which was converted to create a 20,000 sq/ft freezer store, with all pallet access racking for up to 1500 pallets and a 20,000 sq/ft chilled cross-docking platform, with 12 automatic dock levelers and capacity to handle up to 500 pallets per hour, as well as chilled storage and picking locations.
General Manager for Scotland, Malcolm Wilde comments: “Over recent years we have gradually built up our business in Scotland and now this exciting new development gives us significant additional storage and pallet throughput capacity and confirms the company’s on-going commitment to the food industry in Scotland”.
The property also features a two storey office block, a vehicle workshop and parking for up to 100 large goods vehicles. The cost of the site purchase and re-development is estimated at GBP5.5m.
