The Ice Cream Alliance is inviting members of the industry to apply for the National Ice Cream Competition 2020, as the entries are now open. Targeted parties including artisan producers, supermarket suppliers, ice cream parlors, cafes, restaurant chefs or caterers.

The winners of the competition will be announced during the Ice Cream and Artisan Food Show, with the next edition scheduled to take place the Harrogate Yorkshire Event Center between February 11-13, 2020. The show is organized by the industry’s trade association in the UK – The Ice Cream Alliance.

The competition features 16 categories ranging from the most popular flavors across ice cream and sorbets, to innovation in new flavors and presentations, as well as a “Newcomers” award. In 2020, there’s also a brand-new category called “The Alternative Class”. This is for all those varieties that are vegan, dairy- and gluten-free. Category winners are judged at the Show and an overall National Champion is also announced at The Presidents Ball.

“The National Ice Cream Competition has been held for 75 years,” commented Zelica Carr, The Ice Cream Alliance CEO. “It showcases the brightest and best in our booming sector, now worth over GBP1.4bn a year. If you have creative flair in your ice cream making you should enter,” she added.

The closing date for entries in January 10, 2020.
