Family-Run Frozen Food Business Expands in UK

Frozen ready meals producer Lodge Farm Kitchen is celebrating the expansion of their business by opening the doors to a new kitchen facility, built in Ross-on-Wye, Herefordshire. The expansion will allow an increase in production and freezer storage capacity.

The company’s plans for this year include hiring more staff, as well as reaching a wider distribution net, since the new facility has been relocated close the M50.

“We are delighted to have moved into our new base within which our state of the art kitchen and freezing facilities will provide us with the production capacity and efficiencies we need to meet the growing demand for our high quality frozen ready meals, soups and desserts. We’ve learned a great deal since Louisa started the business in a converted stable on our farm on the outskirts of Ross-on-Wye and having survived a recession that was very unkind to many of our fellow artisan food producers we are now well placed to take advantage of the upturn in the economy, the resurgence of frozen food and the insistence of consumers for traceable, high quality British ingredients,” said John Stout, director of Lodge Farm Kitchen.

Lodge Farm Kitchen’s range consists of 27 main meals, six desserts and five innovative frozen soups, all of which are sold through a network of high quality food retailers across the UK.
