GCCA

The Global Cold Chain Foundation (GCCF) is launching Europe’s first Cold Chain Institute.

The inaugural European course will gather nearly 40 temperature-controlled logistics professionals from 10 European countries in Rotterdam, Netherlands, from September 2-4, 2024.

Established almost 60 years ago by the GCCF, the research and education arm of the Global Cold Chain Alliance (GCCA), the Cold Chain Institute has trained thousands of professionals in North America, Latin America, and Australia.

Julie Hanson, Europe Director of GCCA, describes the Institute as a comprehensive, hands-on training program covering all aspects of the cold chain sector. It aims to enhance participants’ specialties while providing a holistic understanding of the temperature-sensitive industry.

The curriculum, developed and taught by active field experts, covers key areas of cold chain logistics management. It’s designed for current and prospective cold chain professionals across various roles and departments. The program spans three years, with annual three-day sessions, culminating in a certificate of skill advancement.

Joris Olbrechts, Director of Jodifrost and Jogrex and Chair of the GCCA European Logistics Council, endorses the program based on his personal experience. He highlights the quality of courses, instructors, peer learning opportunities, and unique networking potential.

In 2024, the Cold Chain Institute received the Power of Associations Gold Award from the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE), further validating its educational value in the industry.
