The Board of Directors at Daiya Foods has announced the appointment of Hajime Fujita to the role of Chief Executive Officer.
Fujita, a former Director at Daiya will lead all global operations throughout North America and the brand’s continued international expansion.
Hajime Fujita brings with him more than 17 years of international expertise in finance and business planning, gained both in the US and the Asia-Pacific area. He comes from Otsuka Pharmaceuticals, the parent company of Daiya, where he was vice president, Business Planning. Prior to joining Daiya and holding the position of director, Financial Planning and Analysis from 2018 to 2021, Fujita played a significant role in Otsuka’s acquisition of Daiya in 2017.
After that, he became a vice president at Otsuka America and took a seat on the Daiya board. One of his most significant accomplishments at Daiya was spearheading the construction of the company’s headquarters and manufacturing complex in Burnaby, British Columbia, which is now the biggest independent plant-based food factory in North America.
