Internorga Displays the Latest Novelties

The 87th Internorga trade fair takes place at the Hamburg Exhibition Fairgrounds from 8 to 13 March 2013 and promises to present an enticing show, with a clear structure of exhibition space, covering all aspects of the out-of-home market.

Internorga has been described as the leading European trade show for the hotel, catering, restaurant, institutional catering, bakery and confectionery businesses, since 1921. More than 1,200 exhibitors from Germany and abroad will be exhibiting on 89,000 square meters of space at Internorga 2013, from 8 to 13 March, with innovations, trends and complete solutions for the whole of the out-of-home market. As always, the focus will be on the latest trends for hotels, restaurants, food service, bakery and confectionery. “Internorga 2013 will deliver innovation, variety of exhibitors, and depth of content. Intensive exhibitor management makes Internorga a constant, dependable industry forum and ordering platform, and at the same time always an opportunity to find out about the future trends while they are still being created,” says Bernd Aufderheide, president and CEO of Hamburg Messe und Congress GmbH (HMC). “The strong supporting program and the innovative exhibition and side-event concepts set the scene for exhibitors and give trade visitors all kinds of inspiration and extras. And all of that is taking place in Hamburg, a city which is constantly reinventing itself as the birthplace of innovative restaurant concepts, and provides quality of stay which would be hard to beat at any trade fair location in Germany”, he added.

Innovative kitchen equipment plays a major role
If one were to take a look back the last 30 years of the trade fair, it is easy to notice that one of the centerpieces for the exhibition has always been the modern kitchen equipment and its significant developments. “One of the main tasks of Internorga is to identify the key trends in the catering and food service market, and to present the specific responses to them,” says Claudia Johannsen, Internorga Project Director at HMC. “From vitamin and aroma conserving Cook&Chill processes, to modern show cooking equipment, to acceleration or slowing down of the cooking processes – Internorga gives an overview of all aspects of today’s kitchen equipment, with clear answers to a whole range of questions,” she added. This aim is reflected not only in the number of equipment exhibitors at Internorga, but also in their quality. The whole world of professional kitchens is on show in three halls (A2 to A4), on more than 20,000 square meters.

New formats attract a wider audience
To ensure that Internorga continues to live up to its reputation as Europe’s leading trade show for this industry, all the components are regularly reviewed and new formats created. For example the Internorga Future Award, which was set up in 2011, has established a firm position in the industry; likewise the “GV Barometer”, which gives a detailed overview of the institutional catering market in advance of Internorga. The Newcomers’ Area was set up in 2010, giving small creative companies a widely publicised showcase for their ideas, and for 2013 this idea will be taken up and transferred to the world of spirits. The Internorga Future Award is presented in two categories:
