Masande GmbH – a company specializing in meatless products – has launched the SunWoWer Burger. The basic ingredient for this product is sunflower hash – which is a new development of the Allgäu Sunflower Family GmbH.
Due to the special processing of the already protein-strong power seeds of the sunflower, the hash contains 55% protein. This makes the burger a worthy alternative for animal protein. The closed production chain ensures that the sunflower seeds remain what they are: 100% GMO-free. Additionally, from an ecological point of view, cultivation of sunflowers is extremely valuable. They are very frugal, especially for water, less prone to pest and disease infestation and suitable for mixed crops.
“Life is an indulgence, but not at the expense of our health and the environment. Eating consciously does not mean renouncing – certainly not on premium products. More sustainability is created on the basis of a balanced nutritional style and the openness to engage in resource-saving food alternatives or recipes. That’s what consumers want today: Choice – between different diets,” says Andrew Fordyce, managing director of Masande GmbH.
The SunWOWer burgers are available in wholesale or at YUMMY trend/streetfood of Masande. They are offered as raw patties in 125g or 160g varieties. The product is pre-grilled and is ready to heat & eat.
