Rotzinger, a leading provider of packaging & cosmetics machinery solutions, and CoreTigo, a provider of Industrial Wireless Automation solutions, announced their partnership and collaboration. With the integration of CoreTigo’s IO-Link Wireless products and technology into Rotzinger’s cutting-edge packaging equipment, new and sophisticated capabilities have been created that are driving maximum flexibility, throughput, and sustainability.
For a number of industries, including the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and food and beverage sectors, Rotzinger, a Swiss network of firms, provides world-class solutions, services, and software. Their objective is to continuously optimize product flow for their customers. A major food producer commissioned Rotzinger to create an adaptive secondary food packaging system that can accommodate various package and product variations while still meeting extremely high throughput requirements. The machine is built on a multi-carrier smart conveyer system, which necessitates handling products while moving continuously at high speed. Cables and traditional wireless options were not viable options for such a difficult and fast task. Rotzinger was able to wirelessly control grippers on the movers by employing CoreTigo’s IO-Link Wireless based devices, which were created expressly for wireless control and monitoring in factory automation. This eliminated the need for any additional external robots, wires, or other sorts of equipment.
Reduced changeover times, a smaller machine footprint, maximum capacity, and complete flexibility to serve various product and packaging types are all benefits of this cutting-edge machine design. Because less resources like energy, space, and parts are required while creating a machine, this ultimately leads to increased sustainability. Since one machine can now handle a variety of products and package styles, the number of machines also declines.
“We are delighted to partner with CoreTigo and to integrate their IO-Link Wireless products and technology into our advanced packaging machinery,” said Andreas Graf, Rotzinger PharmaPack CEO. “This partnership has allowed us to provide our customers with even more advanced capabilities and benefits, resulting in adaptivity, increased productivity, and sustainability.”
