Bridor, a leading manufacturer of Viennese pastries and high-quality bakery goods distributed in over 100 countries, recently revealed plans to build a new manufacturing plant in the Greater Salt Lake City area of Utah.
After two locations in Canada, one in New Jersey, and one in Connecticut, the new plant will be Bridor’s fifth in North America.
With a significant investment of around USD220m between 2024 and 2029, Bridor demonstrates Le Duff Group’s commitment to accelerating its growth in the industrial bakery industry while pursuing robust global expansion.
The new factory’s construction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2024 and be finished by the end of 2025. Beginning in January 2026, production will provide a wide variety of handcrafted breads and Viennese pastries customized for the US market and adjusted to suit the tastes of Western consumers.
“This factory will enable Bridor to meet the specific needs of the American market by having a production site close to its regional customers,” says CEO of Bridor in North America Eric de Saint Lager. “It will propose a wide range of artisanal breads and Viennese pastries designed specifically for the American consumers.”
Over 150 new employment will be created immediately by this project by 2026, and 300 more jobs over time. These jobs will be shared by Brigham City-based operators, bakers, engineers, supervisors, mechanics, and quality controllers. Bridor will give its talent the necessary skills to produce high-quality artisanal goods on a large scale through its training academy. In 2025, hiring will be partially planned in order to assemble and welcome the team during the plant’s early stages.
“They’re really high paying jobs for our area, and that excites us because we don’t have to worry about trying to get people to move up here to fill those jobs,” says Brigham City Mayor DJ Bott. “We’re now in competition to hire the people that live here, but are commuting outside of Brigham City to get the pay they need. We may be able to bring those folks home, and that is exciting.”
For more than 30 years, Bridor has been a partner of the biggest caterers and hoteliers, fusing traditional expertise with cutting-edge industrial capabilities. Additionally, Bridor collaborates with highly respected pastry chefs to offer unique items to upscale clients. The establishment of the new plant and the expertise of Bridor’s staff will make it possible for French bread goods to become widely available in the US.
“We can say we will now have real, genuine French pastries made right here in Utah and shipped nationally,” Bott proclaimed. “The tasty product that they bake and their friendly business demeanor really excites us.”
