BFFF Launches Industry’s First People Awards

BFFF

British Frozen Food Federation (BFFF) has opened entries for the frozen food industry’s first ever People Awards which will celebrate the unsung heroes from across the GBP8 billion industry.

Following 30 years of celebrating success and innovation in the industry at its Annual Product Awards, the association is delighted to launch the new scheme which will culminate at the first ever BFFF People Awards ceremony in February 2018. The awards, which will be free to enter in their first year, will include categories that celebrate those that go above and beyond for their organisation or the wider industry and will cover roles  including commercial, purchasing, supply chain, technical and health and safety as well as the industry’s rising stars.

BFFF chief executive John Hyman said: “We’ve spent 30 years celebrating innovation in our industry and so we felt it was high time all of those people behind the scenes received the recognition they deserve. We’re encouraging businesses from across the frozen food industry to nominate those team members, both from within their own organisations and their suppliers, that they feel have gone above and beyond to help further their business or the wider industry.”

The awards scheme, which is also open to non-BFFF members as long as they can demonstrate they operate within the frozen food industry, is accepting nominations until 6th October this year to give businesses plenty of time to get their entries and supporting documents together. The shortlist will be announced at this year’s BFFF Annual Luncheon on 21st November with the winners presented with their awards at the ceremony in February next year. The event will follow the association’s Annual Business Conference, Technical Seminar and Health and Safety Seminar which will all be held under one roof for the first time ever.
