Scientific research and industry leaders will converge in Parma on October 28–29, 2025, as the Cibus Tec Forum returns with a renewed focus on addressing the most pressing challenges of the global food chain.
In a pivotal new development, Koeln Parma Exhibition (KPE)—the joint venture between Koelnmesse and Fiere di Parma—has announced a strategic partnership with OnFoods, Italy’s largest food research ecosystem.
This collaboration signals a major step forward in uniting the technological innovation showcased at Cibus Tec Forum with the scientific excellence cultivated within OnFoods, a consortium formed under the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). The OnFoods network comprises 26 institutions, including universities, research centers, and private sector stakeholders, working together to reimagine the future of food production and technology.
The goal of the partnership is to create impactful moments of dialogue and knowledge exchange focused on sustainable innovation. By promoting healthier, traceable, inclusive, and competitive models of food production, the initiative aims to generate systemic benefits for the entire agri-food sector.
OnFoods is active across a broad range of research areas—from nutritional quality and food safety to supply chain sustainability and process innovation. Its work is organized around seven thematic research clusters, or “Spokes,” which include personalized nutrition, food quality and safety, sustainable food systems, circular economy, digital and robotic technologies, food education, and supply chain innovation. At Cibus Tec Forum 2025, OnFoods will contribute scientific insights, present actionable research projects, and create opportunities for technology transfer that connect academia with industry stakeholders.
In return, Cibus Tec Forum will provide OnFoods with a high-visibility stage for outreach and engagement. This access to a diverse audience of Italian and international food and food-tech companies strengthens the forum’s role as a bridge between research and industry. The partnership also marks the beginning of a series of initiatives intended to enhance the scientific content and relevance of the event for the broader agri-food and food-tech communities.
Under the theme “Two days to reimagine Food Tech,” the 2025 edition of Cibus Tec Forum positions itself as a cutting-edge exhibition-conference format. The program is designed to spark in-depth discussions on key issues such as advanced processing equipment, automation and robotics, digitalization, food safety, sustainable packaging, and ingredient innovation. The event aims to serve as a catalyst for dialogue, inspiration, and professional development.
This year’s forum also coincides with the 40th anniversary of Cibus, the landmark trade fair celebrating the Authentic Italian Food & Beverage sector. A series of special events, both on and off the exhibition floor, will spotlight the increasing alignment between production technologies and Italy’s agri-food excellence.
Cibus Tec Forum 2025 also sets the stage for Cibus Tec 2026, the international food and beverage technology fair scheduled for October 27–30, 2026, in Parma. The forum will be held in tandem with Labotec, the first Italian event to bring together research institutions, universities, and laboratories under one roof—a unique opportunity to showcase scientific advancements, encourage collaboration, and accelerate the transfer of knowledge across sectors.
