The Coca-Cola Company’s former worldwide vice president of marketing performance, Stephan Czypionka, has been named as the new global chief marketing officer (CMO) by CJ Foods, a business subsidiary of CJ CheilJedang, based in South Korea.
Czypionka has a renowned career spanning more than 20 years, and he contributes a wealth of marketing knowledge to CJ’s quickly growing international food company.
Czypionka started his long marketing career in 2000 with Orange Austria. In 2005, he joined The Coca-Cola Company and had a number of senior positions in marketing for a variety of regions in Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America.
Czypionka was The Coca-Cola Company’s Global Vice President of Marketing Performance prior to joining CJ. In more than 250 markets, he rewrote the company’s marketing performance measures in this capacity. He created an organization for global marketing that is more data-driven and efficient by creating a measurement package that is the industry leader and globally standardized.
In addition, Czypionka has demonstrated his intelligence as a strategist by recapturing significant markets while holding numerous global leadership positions. Especially in the Philippines, where he successfully orchestrated a turnaround and restored the brands by reestablishing contact with a critical population, the country is now among the fastest-growing in the world.
“I am excited to have Stephan as part of our global leadership team. His extensive marketing experience in marketing strategy, brand building, campaign execution and marketing performance management will be instrumental in enhancing our global brand building and marketing capabilities. I look forward to the impact that he will have working with our regional marketing teams,” said Minsok Pak, CEO of CJ Foods.
