Conagra Celebrates Its 100th Anniversary

Conagra Brands has turned 100. Throughout September, the company will recognize its 100th year by celebrating its portfolio of brands which includes players in the frozen food industry such as Birds Eye, Frontera Foods or Healthy Choice.

“Our journey started 100 years ago in Nebraska and continues today as we strive to deliver exceptional value for all of our stakeholders – our investors, employees, consumers, and communities. The Conagra Brands of today is much different than the past. But as we’ve embraced over the last century, we’ve never forgotten our entrepreneurial roots, and the people who helped build Conagra into the business it is now,” said Sean Connolly, president, and chief executive officer.

To celebrate hitting the 100th milestone, Conagra will be launching a “100 Years, 100 Actions” campaign for September. The campaign, which focuses on taking actions of any size that makes a positive impact, encourages employees to give back to others in large and small ways, creating a ripple effect of kindness.

In related news, Conagra announced plans to build the Conagra Brands Center for Food Design in Chicago. The new 40,000 sqft. innovation center is an expansion of the company’s existing state-of-the-art Research & Development and Culinary capabilities and will be focused on innovation related to snacking, one of the fastest-growing occasions in food. The facility will combine culinary, and food and packaging design expertise in a space that enables rapid development of contemporary, on-trend products.

“The Conagra Brands Center for Food Design in Chicago will be a fresh, collaborative space with state-of-the-art capabilities to provide our talented team with the right resources to help grow Conagra’s snacking business,” explained Corey Berends, senior vice president, Research & Development for Conagra Brands.
