Crespel & Deiters is charting a course for continued global expansion following a restructuring at the executive level that has prompted a broader reorganization of its business divisions.
The shift underscores the company’s transformation from a wheat-focused processor into a refinement specialist for plant-based raw materials, a repositioning reflected in a new strapline, logo and website.
With its updated identity, the long-established family-owned company is expanding both its raw material base and its processing capabilities to serve a wider range of applications. By combining a diverse portfolio of plant-based inputs with advanced technological expertise, Crespel & Deiters is aiming to deliver highly tailored solutions that meet specific customer requirements. The company’s growing technical capabilities are increasingly visible across industries, reinforcing its role as a strategic partner in the development of performance-driven and sustainable products.
The new motto, “Nature. Refined. Since 1858,” highlights the firm’s longstanding expertise in processing renewable plant-based materials. While Crespel & Deiters historically concentrated on wheat-based inputs, it now incorporates additional raw materials such as pea and fava bean. Through the use of modern processing techniques including extrusion, blending, protein hydrolysis and modification, the company is producing functional solutions for both the food and paper processing sectors.
As part of the restructuring, several existing business units have been consolidated under the Crespel & Deiters name. This includes the former Loryma division, a producer of food ingredients whose established product lines, including the Lory range, will remain unchanged. The Corrugating & Paper division has also been integrated, continuing to provide solutions for the paper and corrugated board industries, while the Definol range of high-performance adhesives retains its existing branding.
Alongside its strategic repositioning, the company is introducing a modernized visual identity. While the updated logo reflects a more contemporary design, it preserves the iconic “Three Hares” symbol as a nod to the company’s heritage. The redesigned website extends beyond aesthetics, offering a detailed view of the company’s technological capabilities, its expanding range of raw materials and its application-driven solutions. The platform highlights how its ingredients and technologies are used to improve performance, enhance quality, conserve resources and support sustainability across multiple industries.
