Kara, the foodservice specialist of the Finsbury Food Group, has announced this month that it is relaunching and extending its doughnut range, just in time to celebrate National Doughnut Week.
The news comes at an ideal time as the appetite for doughnut among diners has remained strong over the past year. The sweet bakes make up to 4.3% of sweet bakery purchases in the UK, and of this, over a quarter of doughnuts are purchased as a treat, showing that consumers are still big fans of sweets.
The existing range includes options with a sugared ring, sugared jam, sugared chocolate, mini jam, jumbo jam, and the new collection adds a mini chocolate line. For all doughnut, Kara has upgraded the recipes to improve both softness and flavor.
The new mini chocolate doughnuts will include paper bags so that retailers can offer the product as a grab-and-go option. This upgrade was made to give operators an alternative way of merchandising the product.
“We are always looking for ways in which we can enhance our ranges with National Doughnut Week taking place this month, it was a perfect opportunity to relaunch our doughnut range. We feel that with the additional chocolate flavor, the collection is now complete,” said Jane Olney, commercial director at Kara.
The revamped line is available from 24 May 2019.
