Kellogg will be closing down its south Fulton County facility in October 10, according to a Georgia Department of Labor’s Business Layoff and Closure listing.
The facility has been used to manufacturer some of the company’s frozen food products will and its shutdown will result in 108 people losing their jobs.
While there was no public announcement made, a Kellogg spokesperson said the Battle Creek, Michigan-based company told stakeholders and employees about the closure nearly a year ago. The reasons cited had to do with the plant not allowing for cost-effective expansion and growth of the business.
The move is said to be part of Kellogg’s Project K cost-cutting program to streamline its organization.
