New Opportunities on the PLMA Round Table

The Private Label Manufacturer’s Association is organizing its 2015 Round Table, this February 25-26 in Nice.

Among the participants, PLMA has invited from France Groupe-Carrefour, the world’s second largest operator of supermarkets and hypermarkets in more than 30 countries, from Germany, Metro Cash & Carry, one of the most innovative retailers with 2,200 stores in 31 countries. From Italy, Coop Italia, the largest supermarket chain in Italy with more than 1,400 stores and a private label program known for its attention to local needs.

The discussions will be centered on the opportunities for all parties involved in this segment, as well as key notes concerning the major retailers’ plans for 2015 and how private label manufacturers can better position themselves to succeed.

The program will also put the spotlight on the online shopping with a presentation by Ocado, the online supermarket in the UK. While online has represented a small percentage of sales, the emergence of the smartphone may transform the business.Euromonitor and Planet Retail, two of the best known consultancies specializing in retailing, will guide the discussion with briefings on trends in major markets.
