PPM Technologies, part of Duravant’s Food Sorting and Handling Group, has introduced the third generation of its FlavorWright All-in-One seasoning system, a compact and portable unit designed to handle both liquid and dry applications across a wide range of products, including snacks, nuts, confectionery, cereals, produce and frozen foods.
The updated model adds a series of technical refinements aimed at boosting safety, expanding functionality and increasing throughput.
According to the company, the Gen 3 release reflects direct feedback from processors. “Many of the enhancements in the Gen 3 came directly from processors in the field who told us what would make their systems reliable, efficient and easy to operate. These are practical updates that bring real value,” said Jack Lee, Duravant Group President – Food Sorting and Handling.
The system is engineered for small to mid-size production needs, while also serving larger processors seeking an R&D or multi-line solution. Among the new features are a programmable light alarm beacon that provides visual alerts related to system status and product levels, and frame-routed wiring that improves washdown safety and efficiency. An extended Mini VF infeed conveyor with redesigned side guards supports steady product flow while reducing spillage, and optional forklift mounts allow safer movement of the unit throughout production facilities.
Drum enhancements include upgraded magnetic mounts to support high-capacity applications, particularly for dense items such as nuts. A new angle indicator enables operators to set drum position more quickly and consistently. An optional bolt-on stainless-steel drum expands utility in high-temperature, frozen or metal-detection-sensitive processing environments and offers customizable flight configurations.
Sanitation remains central to the design. The FlavorWright All-in-One is built with food-grade materials and meets IP65 washdown standards. Quick-release components on the hopper and drum allow product changeovers in roughly five minutes, depending on the application.
PPM built the system as a standardized platform to shorten lead times and reduce overall cost. Users can choose between volumetric and gravimetric metering, with load-cell-equipped gravimetric controls offering higher precision where required. The unit integrates with upstream and downstream equipment via Ethernet or 24 V signals, and can be configured to oversee connected systems directly through its HMI.
The system is backed by PPM’s global service network, which provides installation support, preventive maintenance and technical assistance. Remote commissioning enables setup, training and programming via an internet connection, helping processors avoid on-site service visits and reducing related costs.
