Pulmuone Unveils Plant-based, Korean-Inspired Innovations

Pulmuone, the world’s largest tofu producer is unveiling a series of plant-based and Asian-inspired innovations at Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim, California.

The lineup includes a variety of new offerings, from glazed tofu and plant-based potstickers to Korean street food favorites, designed to meet growing consumer demand for globally inspired flavors in convenient, accessible formats.

“Consumers today are looking for bold globally inspired flavors and authenticity, without sacrificing convenience,” said Ellen Kim, Director of Marketing Communications & Consumer Insights at Pulmuone.

“With a deep Korean heritage and decades of expertise in plant-based proteins, our new innovations make it easier than ever to enjoy delicious, high-quality Asian-inspired meals at home. Expo West is the perfect place to introduce our newest offerings and connect with those who share our passion for flavorful, accessible plant-based foods.”

Pulmuone’s latest expansion comes amid surging interest in Korean cuisine, a trend that has propelled dishes like bibimbap, tteokbokki, and Korean barbecue into the mainstream. The company is responding with its new frozen K-Street Food line, set to launch in select retailers by early summer, with broader distribution to follow.

“Our new Pulmuone K-Street Food line offers convenient, authentic and accessible options that bring the rich flavors of Korean favorites to more households,” said Sung Yoon Nam, Vice President of Sales, North America. “This innovative line expansion in the frozen aisle exemplifies how Pulmuone is meeting the evolving demands and preferences of consumers across the world.”

Among the new offerings is Pulmuone Potato Crusted Mozza on a Stick, a Korean street-food staple featuring a crunchy potato-coated exterior with a gooey, melted mozzarella center.

The company is also introducing Pulmuone Sweet & Spicy Topokki, an all-in-one kit that pairs tender, chewy Korean rice cakes with a rich gochujang chili sauce, balancing sweet, spicy, and savory flavors. Rounding out the new selection, Pulmuone Bulgogi Style Rice Balls offer a portable take on a popular Korean snack, filled with plant-based bulgogi, crispy vegetables, and a smoky Korean BBQ sauce.

Pulmuone Foods USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Pulmuone, continues to expand its footprint in the US market with a diverse range of tofu and Asian-inspired products, including dumplings, kimchi, noodles, ready meals, and snacks.

The company’s latest innovations reflect a broader effort to make authentic, plant-based Asian cuisine more accessible to American consumers, capitalizing on the increasing demand for convenient, globally inspired food options.
