US Foods announced it has signed around 20 distribution deals with national grocery store chains, wholesale grocers and consumer packaged goods brands, contracting over 700 distribution associates to support the process.
The associates have mostly warehouse roles, such as selectors who choose products for shipping, and truck drivers who deliver products directly to retailers, US Foods says.
Among the partners are Kruger, one of the largest food retailers in the world, C&S Wholesale Grocers, and Albertsons Companies.
“As our country responds to the impacts of COVID-19, the demand on grocery retailers continues to grow”, said US Foods Chairman and CEO Pietro Satriano. “Through these partnerships, we are creating new opportunities for our distribution workforce while helping to maintain the nation’s food supply. We value these new relationships and expect to add more partners as the situation continues to evolve.”
US Foods is a leading foodservice distributor, partnering with approximately 300,000 restaurants and foodservice operators. The company offers various frozen products, like ice creams or frozen fruits and vegetables, such as the Organic blend vegetables or Organic potato blend.
