The British Frozen Food Federation has announced it has appointed Richard Harrow, former MD of Freiberger UK, as chief executive.
He will succeed John Hyman in the position, who has decided to return to a senior role in the food and drink industry after three years at the helm of the organization.
Harrow has been a frozen industry expert for over 20 years. Most notably, he served as managing director at Freiberger UK, where he played a part in the company’s development as one of the leading supplier of private label frozen pizza. Since 2017, he has worked as a consultant for private label food businesses.
“At a time of major economic challenges and political uncertainty for our members, we need to ensure the BFF is offering them the very best support and advice and championing their interests as strongly as possible. The BFF is widely respected throughout the food industry and I plan to build and develop that reputation further,” said Harrow.
“I am really proud of what the BFFF team has achieved in the last three years and I’m glad to have played a role in the in development of one of the most respected trade associations in the food industry. It’ been very enjoyable, but it’s time to return to the industry,” Hyman noted.
